She's a Big Girl now!

It is official.  Rachel is no longer a baby or a little girl.  She has lost part of her babyhood and is already advancing toward adulthood.  She has lost her first tooth and the adult tooth is right there behind!  She pulled it out herself after asking me to give a few tries.  I couldn't get a good grip on it, especially with my nails.  I suggested that she try my technique from when I pulled out my own teeth.  I would use my shirt to grip the tooth and then pull.  It worked for me and it worked for my daughter!  What a proud moment when she yelled, "I did it!  I pulled out my tooth!"  Here are some pictures:

There's the gaping hole and the adult tooth right behind it.

I knew this pillow would come in handy some day!!

Look how tiny it is in my hand.  Sniff, sniff.

Look who wants her tooth to be loose!

Awwwwwww.....
That's so cute. Is she going to have a missing tooth speech impediment when we see her next weekend?

Congrats Rachel! N desperately wants to lose a tooth because some of her friends at school did. She teethed late as a baby and I've heard there is a correlation so she probably won't lose teeth for a while.

K is the same as Lauren... She wants to lose a tooth too.

So cute!

Pauline--No, I think that may happen more when there are two side by side teeth missing, especially the top ones. Although, the tooth next to the missing one is loose, so perhaps we will be able to test that this week-end...

JK--Our dentist confirmed that correlation and Rachel was an early teether (first two came around 4.5 months).
